Custom domain
A custom domain means using your own web address (courses.yourbrand.com) instead of a subfolder on the platform. Students never see the vendor's name in the address bar.
It matters for two reasons. The first is brand: the URL is the first thing people read and the thing they share.
The second is SEO and ownership. Traffic and authority accumulate on your domain, not the platform's. If you migrate later, you take that asset with you instead of starting from zero.
